The creation of The Iron Faith was something God put on my heart. It was built with the intention not only to grow into something meaningful in the blogging space but, more importantly, to share what the Lord has placed on my heart. Some people chase money, fame, or influence, but God has put me on this earth, which can seem so dark, and grim to chase souls. I definitely don’t consider myself a great theologian like, C.S. Lewis, Tim Keller, John Owen and R.C. Sproul, but what I lack in elegance I make up for in conviction. Everyday, I am striving to grow in faith and build my relationship with Jesus Christ, my Savior. Each week I will be covering various topics that the Lord puts on my heart.
Testimony
My name is Alexander Gavris, I’m 22 years old from Canada, and most importantly, I am a born-again Christian! My Savior saved me in the summer of 2017. I remember waking up by my dad to go cherry picking of all things. I was so pissed. I didn’t want to go, but being that I am Romanian, I try not to test my parents. So I went — two hours of the worst driving I have experienced, and the cherry on top (pun intended) was that most of the cherries were rotten. At this point, I was fuming. I just wanted to go home. But the driver of the car got a call saying that a lady who was relatively close to where we were was hosting a prayer night. So, against my protest, we decided to go, but as a point of rebellion I wasn’t going to go in. I sat in the car for two and a half hours praying the prayer would end. Towards the end of the prayer night, someone came out to get me. They said I should come into the house, there would be one more prayer and then we would head home. So, against every fleshy desire, I decided to go in. When I got in the house, I was the only person standing, and in my head I thought it was great — they don’t even have chairs. The last prayer started, and I felt the Holy Spirit stirring in me, and I began to feel His presence. Then it happened. The Lord spoke to me specifically through a prophet who was present there. The Lord told me that He saw me in a dark pit that I had dug and that tonight He gathered everyone who was present there to make a prayer night just for me. God lifted me out of the pit and dressed me in white with three gems representing three gifts He would give me. He said He wants to use my hands for His Kingdom. From that very moment, I was filled with this intense love, and I truly became a born-again Christian and gave my life to Christ through water baptism three months later at the tender age of 14. Since then, I’ve been through so many mountains and valleys, but through all the trials the Lord has never left me. I give all glory to God the Father, the Son, and the Spirit.
